Support the Virginia Solar Database

To expand this powerful public resource and ensure it keeps pace with the rapidly changing energy landscape — including the integration of battery storage — we’re seeking to raise $300,000 to support the next three years of work:

  • Continue to provide this as a free, unbiased, and trusted public resource
    • Quarterly updates of project data
    • Presentations and quarterly reports
  • Expand datapoints published
  • Improve geospatial mapping and compatibility with external sources
  • Issue monthly webscraping report (for donors)
  • Expand to include battery storage
    • Convene stakeholder group to define and prioritize storage datapoints
As a thank you for your support, we will offer the following benefits to donors:
  • Your company logo will be displayed on this website and subsequent database reports
  • Advance access to quarterly data updates
  • Monthly copy of Webscraping Report (summary of solar and/or storage on upcoming public notices and hearing agendas)
  • Access to additional datapoints (examples could include lat/longs, application dates, planning commission dates and actions, board/council dates and actions, permitted conditions, prior project details, etc.)
** To provide transparency and retain public trust in this unbiased data source, all donations will be publicly disclosed.
